A cup will do ya

With the price of Coffee what it is, I don't know about you, but I buy the least expensive brand now. With my budget just can't handle anything else. Yes I love the smell of a great roast, and fresh ground beans. But not at the cost of two meals for the week. Plus where I am staying right now, they have a Kurig Coffee brewer. If those of you aren't familiar with that, they take special "K" style coffee cups, individual single serve, those can get pretty pricy. Makes a perfect cup of coffee though...

So what I have done is this...

I bought a "K" re-useable coffee filter at my local Wal-Mart for just under $18 after tax (and my discount). Then I use my inexpensive coffee, and grind it before I make the cup. Well with roommates that can be hard and rude to do in the morning.

So this afternoon with no one here, I gathered all my equipment and supplies and set up the project of flavored coffee for my K cups.

The spices and flavors I wanted. Fresh Cinnamon Stick, Pumpkin Pie spice, Nutmeg & Clove Blend, and Mocha.

Put all the unflavored coffee in a bowl.

I used my Ninja Master Prep Professional Blender, Chopper and Ice Crusher: More Power & 2 Times Faster
But you can use any food Processor, or coffee grinder.

I then labeled each baggie with the flavors.

I proceed to fill the coffee to just over my blades just over 2 cups. I then added the spices I liked and Blended them very well. About 1 to 2 mins. The coffee gets ground up to a finer grain, and the spices get blended in.

Hint:  Take your whole Cinnamon stick and blend that by it'self first, until it is almost powder. Then add your coffee. You will still have some "bark" type pieces, but keep pulsing. Most will get blended down.

Bag each flavor into it's labeled bag and store. I just sealed and placed back in plastic coffee container. So it's accessible each morning. Takes about 2.5tsp (I pat mine down) to fill your K cups.

Enjoy!!!
