A Samhain Ritual ~ From FB Originally From AngelFire

Here is a lovely simple Samhain Ritual that you can do as a solitary. I found it on Angelfire.com and is a fantastic example of just how simple these rituals can be!! Obviously, as with all spells and rituals your own words will carry more weight but as a starting point, this is a good one :-) Genni )O(

Preparations

Set the altar with regular altar tools, and have 2 black candles, pumpkin, squash, corn, and stuff like that dispersed around the circle.

Have a bon-fire (big or small) have offerings for your loved ones set out as well.

Ritual

Cast the circle. Then name your ancestors that you wish to invite.

Say:

"(Ancestors name) The ancients have come! Here with me stand. Wherever the country, wherever the land. They leave me not to travel alone; Flesh of my flesh, bone of my bone!

Grandmothers, Grandfathers, passed friends Great be their power! Past ones and present at this very hour! Welcome within are the dead of my kin, feast here with me and rest here within. My Hearth is your hearth and welcome to thee; old tales to tell, new visions to see!"

Hold up the Corn and say:

"On this night of Samhain, I mark your passing O Sun King. Through the sunset into the land of the youth. I mark also the passing of all who have gone before and all who will go after."

Hold u the Squash and say:

"O Gracious Goddess, Eternal Mother, You who gives birth to the fallen, teach me to know that in the time of the greatest darkness there is the greatest light."

Light the fire. Take a paper with the Sabbats and your goals written on it and sit before the fire holding the paper, gazing at the flame say:

"Wise one of the waning moon, Goddess of the starry night, I create this fire within your Earth to transform that which is plaguing me. May the energies be revealed:

From darkness, light!

From Bane, Good!

From death, birth!

Light the paper in the fire and drop it within, as it burns know that your goals will be met. Celebrate the simple feast, dance, party, cast spells, do some divination.

After you are done close the circle.
